“2025 has been a year of remarkable progress and meaningful impact. Our focus has been on strengthening educators’ skills, expanding opportunities for underserved students, and building resilient learning communities.
This year, our programs reached over 9,500 students and trained more than 1,800 educators across the Philippines. Together, we have demonstrated that education is not just about classrooms—it is about transforming lives and communities.”
Strengthening Educators: Professional Growth Programs
- Digital & Pedagogical Innovation
- Digital Literacy Bootcamp: 450 teachers learned AI-assisted lesson planning, interactive content creation, and blended learning strategies.
- STEAM Integration Workshops: 320 teachers were trained in project-based STEAM learning, including robotics, coding, and environmental science.
- Inclusive Education Training: 200 teachers specialized in strategies for learners with autism, ADHD, hearing impairment, and dyslexia.
- Action Research & Classroom Innovation
- Classroom Innovation Challenge: 120 teachers designed projects integrating local community issues into lessons; 6 projects won ₱50,000 grants for school implementation.
- Action Research Projects: 40 teachers conducted research on student engagement, assessment strategies, and differentiated instruction; findings were shared in regional teacher forums.
- Mentorship & Peer Learning
- Teacher Mentorship Circles: 150 experienced educators mentored novices across 10 regions, providing weekly guidance, classroom observation, and professional advice.
- Regional Learning Clusters: Established peer groups to share best practices, lesson plans, and teaching innovations, reaching 500 teachers.
Student-Focused Programs & Outreach
- Learning Kits Distribution: 6,500 kits delivered to 35 public schools, including textbooks, notebooks, stationery, and digital tablets.
- Scholarship Program: 135 students supported with tuition, materials, and online learning resources.
- Mobile Learning Centers: 3 vans reached 12 remote barangays, benefiting 1,200 learners.
- Literacy & Numeracy Camps: 20 weekend camps served 700 children, improving reading levels by an average of 2 grades in 8 weeks.
- Environmental & STEM Projects: Partnered with local NGOs to implement school gardens and water management projects in 5 schools, teaching students sustainability and science skills.
Global Collaboration: WBS Coordination with OECTA
WBS helped coordinate 27 member organizations with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) to secure grants supporting local programs.
This collaboration enabled these organizations to:
- Conduct teacher training sessions and mentorship programs.
- Improve school infrastructure and learning resources.
- Expand community outreach programs to reach more students.
This partnership highlights WBS’s role as a coordinator and connector, facilitating access to international resources for member organizations.
Community Engagement Highlights
- Health & Wellness Initiatives: 15 workshops on mental health, nutrition, and hygiene, benefiting over 2,500 students and teachers.
- Learning Space Revitalization: Renovated 12 classrooms and community centers with STEM corners, libraries, and interactive learning stations.
- Parent-Teacher Collaboration Program: Organized 10 workshops to engage parents in students’ learning, improving school attendance and homework completion.
- Cultural & Arts Enrichment: Conducted 5 music, dance, and theater workshops in partnership with local artists, reaching 400 students.
Spotlight on Members & Students
- Ms. Rosalie Tan, Cebu: Developed a gamified STEM curriculum that improved Grade 7 science test scores by 35% in 3 months.
- Mr. Luis De Guzman, Manila: Mentored 10 novice teachers, directly benefiting 120 students with special needs.
- Student Highlight – Aira Mendoza, Quezon City: Advanced from Grade 3 to Grade 5 reading level after participating in literacy camps.
- Student Highlight – Paolo Reyes, Batangas: Won a regional math competition after attending WBS STEM workshops and mentorship programs.
Research, Policy, and Knowledge Initiatives
- Curriculum Innovation Task Force: Developed context-based, localized curricula for more engaging learning.
- Policy Roundtables: Hosted 3 discussions with DepEd and NGOs on teacher welfare, inclusive education, and digital learning readiness.
- Action Research Publications: 2 reports on student outcomes in STEM were published, guiding 2026 programs.
- Regional Best Practice Compendium: Collected and published successful teaching strategies from 8 regions to inspire other educators.
Closing Reflection
2025 has proven that education is most powerful when teachers are empowered, students are supported, and communities are actively engaged. WBS remains committed to innovation, advocacy, and meaningful collaboration, ensuring that educators can inspire, lead, and transform lives across the Philippines.
